Friends,
InterVarsity’s New York City Urban Project exists to develop leaders with the character and capacity to actually transform the world by His Grace and the victory of the Cross.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was raised from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father. We believe in the Trinity – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – one in three and three in one. We believe that justice and the Gospel are inextricably linked and that biblical justice includes preaching the Gospel with words and deeds that cast light on sin and call all people to faith in Christ. We do believe that Jesus is the ONLY Way, the ONLY Truth, the ONLY Life.
Now these and other positions were not arrived at over night, a couple minutes or the result of a facebook debate or battle in the comment section of an article. Instead, there were long conversation at all hours of the day, books read, relationships built and friends made. Therefore in this space, with issues like labor and sexual exploitation of women, girls, boys and men it will be the same.
1. All comments and posts that use profanity will be removed.
2. All comments and posts that are racist, misogynistic, hyper-political (right or left) and generally fodder for arguments will be removed immediately.
This is not saying that you can’t ask hard questions. This not saying we won’t disagree. This is not saying we cannot participate in serious discourse. But what we are saying is that facebook walls and comment sections are not the place for those conversations.
We frequently host events and they will grow more frequent. Please bring your questions to these venues. If you are a college student, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on yours or a nearby campus is exactly the place
