Good Soil. Bold Witness. Changed Hearts.
- We discovered good, fertile soil, willing to receive the seed of God’s truth. Some soil seemed to morph into good before our very eyes.
- We boldly witnessed to others, spreading Jesus’ love and breaking our own goals and records for attendance.
- And yes, we saw changed hearts– Clearly, the Holy Spirit drew 39 students to say “yes” to Jesusin these early days of 2011-12. We believe more have responded, though we don’t yet have enough clarity on their stories to report them as definite conversions.
Thank you for joining with us in prayer these weeks. It is a powerful and fruitful way to begin the academic year. We are indebted to those who prayed from Albany to Azerbaijan and New Brunswick to New Zealand and every place in between. Thank you. God is at work.
One last request which seems appropriate to end on as it underscores the battle in which we are engaged:
The administration of a Long Island institution which previously hosted a sizeable and highly influential InterVarsity chapter is virtually shutting the group down.
In the words of the Area Director: Pray for the breaking of deeply rooted strongholds, for miraculous exposing of veiled sin and deceit, and for courage to speak where there is fear.
Pray that God’s good work would be fully restored and burst far beyond what was even there before, influencing that whole campus and beyond.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers and authorities, against…the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Eph 6: 12)
