He Met Jesus @ RPI

Aiden is a young man who has been friends with many in the InterVarsity chapter since he was a freshman (he’s now starting his senior year). This summer he decided since so many friends are devoted to their faith he needed to figure out what he believed. He was searching and his InterVarsity friends decided to walk alongside him this summer. Aiden looked at Buddhism, Secular Humanism, and a myriad of others. His friends did not judge his searching. Instead they would read along with him and ask him questions about what he was learning. Aiden has decided the Christianity was the only religion that stood up to the questions he was asking. Aiden, in a tearful prayer surrounded by his InterVarsity friends, has become a follower of Jesus. Praise God for the love he felt form his friends. Praise God that his friends had enough confidence in the power of Jesus that they did not cast judgment over Aiden’s search but instead walked with him in it. Praise God that the friendships formed early in Aiden’s college career helped him come to know the love of Jesus. Please be praying with me for Aiden as he continues this amazing journey. Also, please be praying with me for the chapter, that this fantastic life changing experience is the beginning of many more! This is an encouraging example of why this time of the year is so important to know the new students arriving to RPI!

I couldn’t agree more.  Our raffles, social events, tables, contact cards, and taco nights aren’t just cheesy excuses to socialize.  They are the context for making connections with real people we pray will be transformed by the real Jesus.
