Acts 8: 26-40 Philip obediently goes out of his way to share Jesus with a man far away from home. This may be the first weekend in a dorm for many new students. They may be lonely, hungry for attention, worried about the opinion of others, self-satisfied. They may be from another country and far from home. They all need Jesus. They all probably need a friend.
Who can we invite to join us at church today? Who could use friendship this weekend?Pray for divine appointments, like the kind that Philip had.
Answered Prayer–An invitation to faith was made at SUNY Fredonia on Friday and three people responded!
Also–Earlier in the week we prayed for Columbia whose new student activities were curtailed by the administration. So, the chapter re-tooled and decided to go door to door to meet people. On the last floor they were visiting, on the last day of doing these visits, a student came out of his room and inquired about Jesus. He soon made a decision to follow Christ!
Today’s Events:
- RIT Club Day pray that we will make 180 contacts
- NEWARK: Visiting a local church. Pray for connections to be made and residential students able to find this as a home church.
- Clarkson/Potsdam is personally visiting and delivering cookies to all the new student contacts – pray for Divine appointments!
- Union and Skidmore both have convocations for new students. Pray for current students to begin meeting and looking for places to serve and assist these students as they settle in. At Union College, a house whose focus is community service (Wells House) will have 15 residents–7 of whom are members of IVCF. Pray that God will use these relationships to save and serve.
