40 Days of Prayer: September 2, Bold Witness.

Answered Prayer: TCNJ had there best NSO event ever! 350 students came to their “charity:water & water:ice” event.

Acts 2. “…they were cut to the heart…3,000 men…day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.” Peter, newly filled with the promised Spirit, leverages an opportunity to tell the gospel, give a very bold sermon to a crowd of religious pilgrims. Pray for courage to rise to the occasion in order to speak a timely word. Pray for words from on high. Pray for the persistence to look for those who are spiritually hungry.

Today’s Events:

  • Univ. Buff.–2nd Freshmen Dinner and first Veritas Hour
  • RPI-Our first large group is actually going to be doing hurricane clean up to some of the hardest hit areas of Troy. The City is shocked that a campus group is coming on a Friday night to help clean-up. We are getting a huge response from students (who don’t generally associate with the group) who want to participate
  • SUNY Geneseo–Greg Ahlquist will give a compelling message asking students to choose Jesus.
  • BARUCH- Follow up party today. Pray for the joy of the LORD to fill Christian students as they make phone calls to follow up on the students who indicated interest in InterVarsity.
  • Clarkson/Potsdam – Pizza-in-the-Park…pray for at least 75 new contacts!
  • BINGHAMTON: 1st LG of the semester draws a lot of new people. Pray we are so clear and compelling that both Christians and non-Christians feel like this is the best possible place to grow spiritually on campus.
  • Skidmore leadership will be finalizing speakers/presenters for LG’s. Ask God to use this series on “Love One Another” to speak relevantly to campus.
Note: In many of our recent requests, we’ve asked you to pray that chapters would collect a certain number of contact cards. These are for follow-up purposes, where people indicate their interest in learning more about Jesus, being involved in a bible study to investigate Jesus or volunteer for a service project, like feeding the homeless. We set goals for contact cards based on our goals for growth. These contact cards lead us to further conversations, which may lead to friendship, which may lead to a spiritual transformation. So each contact card that we collect may lead to someone coming to know Jesus. That’s why we ask you to pray for these contact card goals, because we ultimately want to see people come to know Jesus.
