Jonathan Walton “How He Loves Us” – Staff Reflection

Ephesians says that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we can ask or imagine. And as I hear that 5 people came to faith at the Hope Fair, the Dreyfus Foundation wants to meet with the leadership of Manhattan Bible Church to create community based programs, and that students from this past six weeks are making radical commitments to follow Jesus, I am on the brink of tears.

God’s love is higher, deeper and wider that human eyes will ever see or our minds comprehend. He desires for all to know Him and will go to any lengths to see it done. So, if he must take an angry black kid from Brodnax, Virginia to Columbia University, disciple him under White and Asian leadership, and send him into a justice ministry centered on Latinos in Washington Heights and carried out by college students from Hong Kong to Rhode Island and Miami to Seattle so that 5 immigrants from the Dominican Republic who didn’t know Him can come to faith — that’s exactly what He will do.

God will do whatever it takes for the poor to have their needs met, for slaves to be set free, and the apathetic to move to passionately active people who seek justice, love mercy and follow after God.
